Hello, thank you for your interest in studying voice.
I teach regularly out of my studio in New Haven, CT (at the Center for the Arts at Christ Church), and frequently in New York City.
My students range in age from 18-63 and are interested in a wide variety of music and performing styles.
I take a style netural, voice type neutral approach to training the voice.
My students focus on developing a
solid, stable, and reliable technique that is applicable to any type of music (ok... not
death metal... that mystifies me).
We work on clarifying the mental process to send
the most efficient
commands possible to the voice, thus freeing the autonomic nervous system to manage
tricky elements like breath support, tongue placement, mouth shape, etc...
Freed from having to think about singing, my students are free to actually
sing.
I teach both male and female students of all voice types,
but I have a special interest in training
countertenors as there is a great deal of misinformation out there about what it is
we do and how we do it.
Check out my blog for an entry about this.
